IMPORTANT – THIS IS A LEGALLY BINDING DOCUMENT. READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING.

By signing this document, you agree that you are participating in roller skating entirely at your own risk and that Manchester Roller Skating will not be held liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from your participation, to the maximum extent permitted by UK law.

1. Acknowledgement of Risk

I understand and acknowledge that roller skating is a high-risk activity which can result in serious personal injury, permanent disability, property damage, or death. Risks include, but are not limited to: falls, collisions with other participants, equipment failure, and surface hazards. These risks exist regardless of my age, ability, or experience.

I accept full responsibility for my decision to participate, and I confirm that I do so voluntarily and entirely at my own risk.

2. Assumption of Full Liability

I accept full and sole responsibility for any and all injuries, losses, or damages (including death) which I may suffer as a result of roller skating at Manchester Roller Skating, whether caused by my own actions, the actions of others, the conditions of the premises, equipment failure, or otherwise.

I accept that I am waiving any and all rights to make a claim, complaint, or legal action against Manchester Roller Skating or any of its employees, directors, volunteers, contractors, agents, or affiliates, including but not limited to for:

• Negligence (except where liability for negligence cannot be excluded under UK law);

• Breach of duty;

• Breach of statutory duty;

• Loss of personal property;

• Any indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage.

This waiver shall be binding on me, my heirs, executors, dependents, and any other parties who might otherwise have a right to bring a claim arising from my participation.

3. Legal Limitations

Nothing in this waiver excludes or limits liability where it is unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by gross negligence, or where exclusion is prohibited by the Occupiers’ Liability Act 1957, Consumer Rights Act 2015, or the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977.

However, by signing this form, I expressly agree that to the fullest extent allowed by law, Manchester Roller Skating shall not be liable for any injury, loss or damage sustained during participation in any skating activity.

4. Fitness and Safety Acknowledgement

I confirm that:

• I am physically and medically fit to take part in roller skating;

• I understand the importance of using recommended protective equipment and accept that choosing not to wear it increases the risk of injury;

• I will follow all safety instructions and conduct myself responsibly at all times;

• I will inform staff immediately if I observe any hazards or unsafe behaviour.

If signing for a child under 18, I confirm I am their legal parent or guardian and I accept full responsibility for their safety and conduct during participation.

5. Personal Belongings

I understand that Manchester Roller Skating accepts no responsibility for the loss, theft, or damage to any personal belongings brought onto the premises.

6. Emergency Medical Treatment

In the event of a medical emergency, I authorise Manchester Roller Skating staff to arrange first aid or emergency treatment as necessary, and I agree to bear any associated costs.

7. Declaration

I declare that I have read and understood this document in full and had the opportunity to ask questions before signing. I understand that I am giving up substantial legal rights by signing this document, including the right to sue or claim compensation.

I confirm that I am signing voluntarily, in full knowledge of the risks, and accept all liability for my own safety and actions while on the premises.

I state that I have read, understood, and agree to everything set out in this waiver.
