Terms of Entry & Participation
By entering Manchester Roller Skating and/or participating in any skating or related activities on site, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to the following terms. These terms form a legally binding agreement between you (the participant or guardian) and Manchester Roller Skating.
-
Assumption of risk
- Roller skating is a high-risk activity that may result in injury. By participating, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with roller skating, including but not limited to slips, falls, collisions or injuries arising from your own actions or those of others.
- You acknowledge that these risks cannot be completely eliminated, even with the use of protective equipment and supervision.
-
Limitation of liability
- Manchester Roller Skating and its staff shall not be held liable for any injury, loss or damage sustained by any participant or spectator, unless caused by proven negligence or breach of statutory duty on our part.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion is prohibited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
-
Use of protective equipment
- Protective equipment (helmets, wrist guards, knee and elbow pads) is provided free of charge and is available to all participants.
- We strongly advise all skaters, particularly beginners, to wear the provided safety gear at all times while on the rink.
- Failure to wear protective equipment is entirely at your own risk and Manchester Roller Skating accepts no liability for injuries sustained as a result of not using safety equipment.
-
Fitness to participate
- You confirm that you are physically fit and able to take part in roller skating activities.
- It is your responsibility to consult a medical professional before participating if you have any health conditions that may be affected by physical activity.
-
Parental responsibility
- Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied and supervised by a responsible adult at all times.
- Parents and guardians accept full responsibility for the behaviour and safety of minors in their care while on the premises.
-
Instructions and conduct
- All participants must follow staff instructions and venue safety rules at all times.
- We reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any participant whose behaviour is deemed unsafe or disruptive, without refund.
-
First aid & emergencies
- Our team includes trained first aiders who will provide immediate assistance where necessary.
- An accident report will be completed following any incident.
- Emergency services will be called when required, unless explicitly declined by the injured person or a responsible party acting on their behalf.
-
Acknowledgement of personal liability
- By entering the rink and/or participating in activities, you accept full responsibility and liability for your actions and acknowledge that any injury sustained due to your own actions, including falling or loss of balance, is your own responsibility.
